are now actively screwing retail but imposing bullshit rate limits disadvantages over bigger fish, just shows they don't care about the people who helped them get to where they are. Greed has well and truly now taken hold. Absolutely shameful!!

While they have scaled rate limits, I've not seen any that are actually lower than the previous ones on a per market basis, at any tier... Large traders are getting more API volume (which is good for your own liquidity) but you're not losing out?

I'll concede better messaging and framing could have been had. On the first rate limit roll out they did, warning and transfer time, but that was with market data not orders. If someone needs more than 10 orders per second per market, their trade volume will be higher anyway...

Ours is 1% of exchange volume per day. After just a month or two. And we only send 6 orders a minute total. And the first one was actually for orders. Cut to 2 per second for the worst tier.

1/x Are you talking about placing orders or grabbing full market data? For orders, if you are 1% of exchange volume, you can do 400 calls per second. (help.ftx.com/hc/en-us/artic)

2/x If you are talking about market data grabs, then your GET API has limits for sure, even grabbing the full market data dump twice per second is overkill. If you need it more than that, then you should be using FIX or Web Sockets anyway. Way better for fintech.

3/x If your bot is 1% of market over multiple user accounts on local instances, then that could be rate limited, but you should have the specific partner APIs which you could discuss exemptions on.

I'm still unclear on what rate limit you are hitting? Each of your users should have **10 calls per second** in placing orders. No limit on cancels or pulling personal account data. help.ftx.com/hc/en-us/artic

Yeah the limits generally give pretty decent and consistent $ volume / order ratios; the only orders they're really weeding out are ones that are very frequent and unlikely to trade (i.e. spammy)
