Only partially related and a long-shot from where we are now:
Howabout tokenizing shares of private companies ☺️?
I see a good number of issues with that naturally, but it could open many possibilities for investors and companies 🍇🥦

To name only a few recent examples of trust issues with current stock exchanges (trust issues as opposed to a #trustless approach):
- Luckin Coffee, Wirecard, Volkswagen, Deutsche Bank, TAL Education Group ... list will go on.
So I dont see stock exchange safe-guards as...

...a good counter-argument against tokenized shares of privately held companies who wish to go “a bit” public.
+/- a certain minimum level of publicly available data on a blockchain

one of the harder things here is finding anyone who can sell these, given that you can't go buy them.
True for the big guys - but I imagine there are a lot of startups and small/medium sized established companies that would love some capital.
In a wefunder.com fashion - but tokenized (with the added security features of a smart contract, as compared to some pdf file)
