*Eth2 deposit contract :)
There is one ETH asset; no "ETH1" or "ETH2".

Don't you think there will absolutely be two versions of ETH on exchanges for the time being?

Why would anyone provide liquidity for that? Just moving ETH over to the eth2 chain has zero profit.

I'm so confused doesn't ETH2 give staking rewards?
*just*? or are you by default staking when depositing to the contract?

Yes, but you have to be a validator, rewards from (8%-12% APY) very interesting to see how this will compete with defi yields.

DeFi yields denominated in ETH are close to zero, so staking rewards will be much higher

You posting this reply made me spent 15mins of researching and doubting ETH2 was not going to be ETH2... as far as i can tell ETH2 is still the same ETH2

I think according to roadmap there would be, but no specific schedule yet.. and Vitalik mentioned "eth2 chain" not “eth2 contract” so its gonna be very interesting
Only if you're staking. And as soon as you stop staking some ETH, you can't use that ETH to stake again until it becomes unfrozen in the merge.

This is just a one way ticket (at least in two years) from ETH1 to ETH2 so that you could set up your validator to stake.
