OK guys seriously can we move past the phase where exchanges fake a lot of volume on new products?
Like your overall volume is huge! You don't need the fake volume!

Not sure why it's "fake volume" when exchanges do it but "financial revolution" when dexs do it

Difference is that on DEXs someone pays the fees whereas with CEXs it costs nothing for the exchange to produce fake numbers

yeah answer here is different for e.g. sushiswap (has net fees) vs uniswap (no net fees)
Another difference is that faking volume is also fairly transparent on ETH. If someone is doing it on Uniswap with themselves, you could find it pretty easily at some point

I wouldn't say "fairly easily". Takes some work :) Also why would the person figuring it out tell you? Getting processed on-chain data is a pretty sweet edge fam
