yeah so before my bar was pretty low I basically just saw it as a way to help out projects and build my network I no longer do, because of things like this, and am now a lot more hesitant to accept advisory roles

This is eye opening: So you decided to take on advisory rolls in projects to build your industry network while not actually advising projects until shit hits the fan? This is reckless, no?
