One reasons AMM are popular is because everybody can self-list and have instant liquidity for all market participant. An orderbook CEX/DEX can never compete with this! AMM DEX: 1. Permissionless self-list 2. Permissionless trading

I agree. Even though I like AMMs and admire Uniswap’s achievements, many of the benefits people list about AMMs can be just as easily delivered by a decentralized order book

Cool! But orderbook is not fixing the instant liquidity problem. What you would need is some kind of dynamic AMM to Orderbook transformation. If spread is high be a AMM if it gets lower transform to an orderbook.

What's the main advantage of order books compared to AMM's from your perspective? For retail traders, I doubt AMM's are worse than traditional order books.

Order books are dominated by HFT firms, like yours.
