I've created a $BVOL / $IBVOL supply chart on . I have never seen it anywhere and I was curious so here it is:

Late July was the crazy BVOL issuance period, I remember it vividly. They had to sell at a loss if I remember correctly.

I'm not sure how BVOL buying and creation are related as FTX MMs have some inventory, but the big spike in supply is the green square, and the fast supply decrease the red square. I guess most buyers didn't profit. Especially with the current supply 2x what it was before that...

I agree, I checked with my timeline to see post dates and found in the 20s of July was the big issuance period.
There was a big bet being made on BVOL, that all crashed down. By August 4th BVOL in circulation was back down to 890 from over 1350.

Back down to ~890 BVOL tokens.
Either sold at profit or realised this wasn't the play they were looking for and wanted to bet on RV > IV.
If I had monitored the decrease and when it started, I'd be able to tell you which of the two it was. But I didn't...

yeah lots of people got long BVOL.
Bitcoin then proceeded to go months without basically any volatility.
BVOL was basically a straight line down, IBVOL a straight line up (in price)

Why do you guys have a long and short component in IBVOL and BVOL is what I am unable to understand.

MOVE contracts are themselves long BTC; the futures hedge that so it's just % volatility exposure
Any plans in the future of having something like binance academy.
You guys have revolutionary products but very few know about them. Next step to adoption is explaining retail how these things work and better marketing on these products.
