yeah agree with most of this.
Lockups only work if msot people have them -- selective lockups suck.
But overall they can promote positive sum behavior: avoiding the prisoner's dilemma of racing to not sell last.

to be clear lockups don't make sense for mature projects: it is what it is.
But for early stage ones they can be great.
Trying to circulate more of a token than the project is developed can create an imbalance.
