3) This means that you can now convert between ERC20 tokens and SPL tokens 1:1 natively in sollet.io; all you have to do is connect it to your Metamask walet.

So user pays gas on way in and out in ETH to Serum. Probably doesn’t make sense for a small trade but does for a larger one. Feels like a Layer 2 like what OMG Network is doing with a plasma chain.

Yup, but only if you're going straight in and out; if you're staying on Solana then it's extremely cheap and quick, but also on a layer 1 blockchain
