25) So overall we'll have:
$BTC, $ETH, $XRP, $FTT, $SRM, $LINK, and $MSRM
with wrapped $SOL and one surprise listing later today
against $USDT and $USDC
$SOL is the native token; the exchange uses SPL tokens. This is the same reason that Ethereum DEXes list WETH and not ETH.
But you can do instant atomic swaps between SOL and wrapped SOL on-chain.
Why do we need WETH or spl-SOL? Nearly for the same reason as why we have separation between “user space” and “kernel space”. Something has to be the root security context which gives up control up the stack.
