What exactly does the perp track ? Still don’t really understand after reading the description.

if I use my free collateral to buy $srm
as balance, does that affect my open positions for perp swaps ?

should be basically fine, note that different things have slightly different collateral factors but as long as you're not really close to limits it'll be ok
