Why not? There certainly is a limit to the throughput achievable without centralization (due to physics, for one), and if the cost of using the chain is sufficiently low at a point in time, what is there to prevent demand from pushing fees to similar levels?

the physical limit of throughput is waaaaaay higher than ETH's.
I think you could get something like 1 billion tx/sec or so theoreticaly, compared to *7* for ETH?
and @seb_alameda know better than I what the real limit is.
