Totally understand the concerns! However: 1) it's moving on-chain soon; just having rolled that out yet. 2) we've already banned all employees/affiliates from receiving this. 3) if you have other ideas, happy to hear them :)

1/ Quick thoughts on the $SRM give away Disclaimer: I only criticize Sam cause I'm a big fan of FTX and his ingenuity. But if I'm following along, this seems like a big ethical conundrum twitter.com/SBF_FTX/status…

In the end, the question here is: given what we have available, should we do the MegaSerum giveaway or not? I'm guessing most people are in favor :P. But if you're not, feel free to ignore it.

Hmm, that's a reasonably weak defense. You could for example allow buys with those annoying CAPTCHA's and allow a max of x per person to be purchased. Only EOS tried to make a fair economic model in the sense that they had periods of x allocated coins etc.

Hm I think I'm missing your point; what's the thing you're optimizing for here? I think what I was responding to was the worry that it would be someone affiliated with FTX who one, creating a conflict of interest, rather than a random large trader.

The fairness of Economic distribution in tokens. Staking coins is fun and all, having projects grow 100x though, who holds most of those coins? Centralized exchanges most probably. Would love more initiatives towards more fair distribution if coins have a staking model.

Ah that make sense. Yeah not going to be a huge problem with this one (empirically most huge insto holders aren't eligible) but totally hear you.
