The first $AMPL rebase on FTX just happened! Spot markets came back a few minutes after 10am. The rebase was for about 10%; everyone's AMPL holdings on FTX grew by that amount. Prices dropped a bit more and then partially recovered. ftx.com/trade/ampl/usd

Why would an exchange allow margin trading on Ampl . Or is it only spot . Wouldn’t it be similar to margin trading a stable token. And at this stage would anyone really long Ampl? Am I missing something or did I get it wrong ?

Yes you’re missing the part about hourly funding that shorts have to pay longs for amplperp. In a perfect world the short funding would equal the drop in price, but you also have to figure out how the daily rebase affects the price.
