I sort of disagree with the entire premise of this thread as it implicitly assumes DeFi started with COMP in June 2020. No, DeFi has been a multiyear experiment that is only just now being somewhat recognized by an irrational market and its participants

I don't think DeFi started in June 2020 -- but this period of hypergrowth did start fairly recently
