14) Where is that DeFi volume coming from?
Well, looking at curve.fi and coingecko.com/en/exchanges/u, it was mostly stablecoins, and governance tokens of platforms trading and locking.... stablecoins.

So, what if the governance token is used to cut a slice of the fees of the governed protocol? Lets say, COMP, BAL or CRV and they vote to redirect 0.1% of the 0.3% trading fees towards the holders of the governance tokens. That should generate value and revenue, wouldnt it?

Yeah definitely! And I'd be in favor of this.
Though it might, you know, kinda kill off a lot of the fake volume.
It is a niche for sure, but people trust ETH to hold billions of US dollar. That is something. And they can exchange millions with very low slippage... that is also something. So DeFi farming is kinda bootstrapping the prototyp to show what it can handle and what it is capable of
Kill off fake volume? because more people would redeem the governance token for the underlying and not fuel into the speculation?

Wouldn't that further fuel speculation because redemption creates scarcity which could fuel speculation even more?
