Would you trade hashrate futures?

With hashrate by default going up over time because of improvements in mining efficiency, futures help us speculate on when some near-term miner capitulation might occur? Or what am I not getting here?

And the main thing holding you back from just keeping a long open for years is the funding premium? Assuming the mechanism is the same and tied to the actual hashrate.
It just seems like something the entire market would want to be long on considering hashrate is exponential.

Either there'd be funding premiums, or they'd be expiring futures
Expiring futures sound like they might actually be useful for miners that have certain expectations of future margins at varying hashrates.
