I was chatting with about the QE, so we agreed that current QE practice does help alleviate the situation a bit, but in the long run, it remains a question mark.

Agreed--QE probably helps here, but the real problem is that the economy might shut down for months.
I'm not sure that the USD printing is so bad for other countries. If they think that USD is going to inflate they can sell it back for their currency or goods.
