We're tentatively planning to increase the tick size on BTC-PERP from $0.25 to $0.50 on

. The disadvantage is you lose 0.25bps of pricing; the advantage is the orderbook is cleaner and there's more size top of book. Thoughts?

On a 30-40 vol product 0.25bps of pricing is hardly the relevant factor..

u should also consider to list all the stuff u have on the left or right site of ur page togehther with the last price and not on the top one beside one. would be much cleaner and userfriendly imo.🤟

You probably know 10x more about this than I do but I'll still spew my not-very insightful thoughts here. My assumption is that the main idea here is to provide an order book that looks a bit more like bitmex in terms of liquidity at the front of the book. /1

I'm going to 1) ignore vip programs 2) assume a 10k btc price for nice numbers If the bid ask is 10000 /10000.5 I can make at 10000 and pay -0.025% (paying 9997.5) or I can take for 10000.5 and pay 0.075 (paying 10008). So this $0.50 gap really means a $10.50 gap in pricing. /2

I'd wait another few months to be sure we aren't goin to 2k, because if that were to happen, you're gonna want that 0.25 tick size. And you don't want to flip-flop.

I'd imagine this makes more sense for the BTCPERP, while the smaller increments is more applicable to something like the daily MOVE contracts.
