But another part: there were 20 desks with identical services. Eventually customers tried all and not just the first one they found, and so the ones with worse pricing/service/etc. lost their customers and died off. twitter.com/IamNomad/statu

Or in other words... the OTC desks experienced their own cycle just as a market does. Many rushed in, and those who worked harder, and planned ahead prevailed. Nothing mysterious about this. Not that dis-similar (not a real word) to independent traders themselves.
