Tbf Deribit refunded everyone without using the insurance fund.
Proper move, and the refund happened within the day.

Some thought a roll-back should have occurred instead of the refund of liquidated and stop-loss trades. What’s your take on this?

In some cases they're pretty similar! I think the important question here is, basically, which there were more of:
a) obviously erroneous trades that are hard to classify
b) intentional trades that would get accidentally rolled back
