The TL;DR: USDT issuances sometimes come with BTC price increases because people create USDT to buy BTC, nothing shady required to explain that.

oh yeah that's true. USDT creations are sometimes much more than a few MM a day though, at their peak.

We don't know that, the only thing we know is that USDT was minted and the price went up - I'm quite sure other fiat onramps also saw big inflows of money at the same time. Why do you think anything under 100m doesn't have price impact? I definitely think 80m has price impact.
