Do you feel like after alt relief is done and btc drags alts into oblivion once again it will be better option to short new composite alt indexes rather than individual coins on mex? How is liquidity an issue on those

Depends on whether you have a particular ALT you really want to short! If you strongly think one is going to underperform then short that, if your belief is more generally about alts then short ftx.com/trade/ALT-PERP
All are more liquid than MEX--check out the orderbooks :)
