@SAPoliceNews @SA_Ambulance Who is best to contact for a psychiatric case with weapons? Last year a male with shovel was walking around saying someone was going to die, he was entering yards etc. We called 131444 neighbour called 000. It took over a hour for sapol to respond

A single person vehicle who just spoke with the male and left (no SAAS attended). Today 1 street away a geriatric psychiatric case (in a house) had an ambulance, sprint car 1 marked police car and 1 unmarked police car. Patient today was loaded into ambulance and was compliant.

@SAPoliceNews I would like your thoughts on this. This male still lives in the vicinity and has had @SAPoliceNews and @SA_Ambulance attend his address several times. So next time he is walking the streets entering yards saying people are going to die. Who do I call SAAS or SAPOL?

HI James, always call the Police Assistance line on 131 444 if you see something suspicious so you can provide details. A patrol will then go and make an assessment. Thank you.

We did and the neighbours that were confronted called 000.. I feel like calling @SA_Ambulance may be the better option so they call you for backup but didn't want to tie up a SAAS crew waiting to RV. Cheers 🚓🚔
