No I wasn’t able to find the Ryanair desk or someone who works for them at the airport. Can this be resolved in another way as I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of buying a replacement case.

You should explain the situation here: https://contactform.ryanair.com/?cr=4-0&lg=en&id=43&compr=Other … as you have not reported it at the airport you won't have the reference to go through the baggage section. MM
