@Ryanair I'm travelling Dublin - Edinburgh with a narrow 1.3 Meter long package under 10kg. Can I check this in as Sports Gear? Thanks!
Hi, if it isn't actual sports equipment you will need to check it as a checked bag. DL

Thanks for quick reply. It's outside the checked in bag size (55cm). This is 120cm.

Hi, our hold luggage of 20kg has dimension restrictions of 119x119x81cm JH

What's your advice about flying with a package that's 130cm, narrow and under 20kg, but is not actual sporting equipment. This is a business trip and I imaging I'm not the first with a small popup banner :-)
-
HI, it would have to be within the dimensions given in order to travel. JH

My skis are 180 cm. Could they be checked on as sporting equipment?
-
This would be checked in under ski equipment. JH

So, to be clear, (not being personal - you are being very responsive, thanks) - there is no option for me to check-in a 130cm package, about the same width as a ski bag that's a business instrument but not a sports or musical instrument.

Please choose large sports item for this. JH

That makes sense, JH, but DL says: "Hi, if it isn't actual sports equipment you will need to check it as a checked bag. " I can't risk turning up at the airport and being turned away.

As your item is larger than a checked bag this would be why you would need to choose the large sports item . JH
