Actually I did, but apparently I had only 7 days and the message said: cannot be accepted. What should I do now???

I would submit a complaint into our customer service department stating the issue that your claim was not accepted. Were you applying for it outside the 7 day time frame?: https://contactform.ryanair.com/ Thanks AR
