Seems to me that in this case, full context shouldn’t at all take away from the intensity of criticism. That’s a nutty book.

As I'm not American I don't have the same cultural context, this is strong language, but she speaks her heart and (what I read in it) actually acknowledges that it is God who keeps the hate at bay. God is (amongst other things) love. Feelings of hate can feel great /1
