A Maryland judge threw out the state's gerrymandered Congressional map. It's good to see gerrymanders blocked, but we shouldn't have to rely on courts to ensure fair maps in the first place. Congress must pass the Fair Representation Act to end this cycle.

Grateful to community members all across AZ who came to testify against the unconstitutional & bring to light the human rights abuses against Palestinians. The moral arc of the universe bends towards justice. Special thx to & Ryan Suto w/ for flying in.

Racism isn't like fog that just happens without human control. People were racist. If you don't say who was racist, you are actively covering for them. This headline is protecting the racists.

A Maryland judge ruled on Friday that Democrats in the state had drawn an “extreme gerrymander” and threw out the state’s new congressional maps, the first time this redistricting cycle that districts drawn by Democrats have been defeated in court.

In which tries to sound like he's condemning xenophobia but at the same time wants international law to change to accommodate xenophobia, which he views as natural and therefore good, I guess?

Will the 100,000 Ukrainian refugees arriving to the U.S. be forced to live on military bases and in tents for months at a time the way Afghans were forced to last fall?

I don’t know what a “racial overtone” is. ⁦⁩ has said that it is best not to use euphemisms like this. Moreover, such framing doesn’t account for the agency of the Senators who asked the questions that Judge Jackson “endured.” 1/

If your professional “values” won’t allow you to cover politics truthfully, in a factually adequate way, lead to such bizarre distortions, and keep you from acknowledging that one side is staging an unprovoked, utterly disingenuous assault, it’s time to ditch those values.

This Wapo reporting shows that Ginni Thomas was all in on the conspiracy theories about the 2020 election being stolen, and was urging Mark Meadows to take action to disrupt the peaceful transition of power through unsubstantiated fraud claims. Astounding

The promise of American democracy has been held hostage by our unwillingness to confront the intentionally anti-democratic foundation of our gov. institutions. Founder Worship by those who benefit most by the status quo is leading us toward oligarchy dressed as civic fidelity.

Senator Whitehouse just exposed Republican witness testifying against confirmation when witness refused to say Biden is the “duly elected” president. The witness is Alabama’s Attorney General and he had no specific criticism of Judge Jackson.

The intersection of Anti-Black racism and Anti-Muslim sentiment are on full display in Senator Cotton’s question of Judge Jackson right now if you’d like to watch: “Do you think the people held at Guantanamo are mostly terrorists or mostly, I don’t know, innocent goat farmers.”
