My daughter accidentally overdosed last November in a sober living in her bedroom narcon was there but a supervisor wasn’t. So it’s many many facets from the pharmaceutical companies to insurance and rehabs and alternative means to live with this disease. It is a disease people!

it's more than addiction. A friend's daughter died from an opioid patch she was using for pain treatment. These are fatally powerful drugs.

Wierd how the crack epidemic's solution was incarceration. Now for opioid it's treatment. Could it be the affected demographic? Put them in jail it's illegal, a year in prison without it will sober them up. Spend the money on cancer it affects everyone.

I met with public health/ SUD officials in Spain and not politicizing the Opioid Epidemic in the 80s was something they were proud of and led to eradicating their epidemic....

Have you considered that the risk of fatal overdose is highest after a period of planned or forced abstinence? This legislation, as well intentioned as it may be, excludes one of our best tools for treating OUD: medications. The problem isn’t Congress. It’s us.
