Romney is the first senator to vote to convict a president of his own party, but it seems just as notable to me that he was also the party's previous presidential candidate

  4. The obvious counterpoint to this is that if most people were really satisfied we would not have ended up with Trump in the first place.

Once you hear the phrase "trouble downloading today," it is not the technology. That is a training/planning/organizational problem. Should have had multiple dry runs & zero people should have been downloading anything on caucus night.

Both Biden and Sanders should speak out and say they have confidence in the results and that it was not rigged. Leaders are responsible for beating back conspiracy theories.

If things keep going like this - elected officials questioning the legitimacy of elections - we are in really big trouble. I mean, as in, our democracy will die trouble. Candidates, news organizations, and other elected officials need to step up.

And if we don't know this. We should know how well Iowa Caucus turnout predicts general election turnout in battleground states. That's all that matters - if the answer is that it doesn't, then we can stop caring.

So what was turnout in Iowa and how does it compare to the historical averages? (also do we have it by age cohort?)

In this data, 2 out of the top 3 approval presidents were re-elected and 2 out of the bottom 3 were re-elected. Seems like there’s no real reason to update your believes about reelection no matter where Trump is on the list.

The situation in Iowa seems quaint, but it's symptomatic of the potential chaos with many voting systems in the US. And such chaos is a recipe for abuse with a conspiracy-theory-wielding would-be-dictator trying to stay in power.
