What's interesting here is the suggestion that literally the only thing that determines whether you're a Republican is loyalty to Trump. Your views on a whole range of other matters and issues have no relevance whatsoever, even if you agree with Trump on many of them!

The belief that post Trump Republican politics we'll go back to honoring institutions, laws, norms, etc completely ignores that their base of voters are absolutely not going to want that. John McCain wouldn't even win a primary today.

Any minimally biblically literate Christian knows that the devil DOES quote scripture. The value of comments like these is to demonstrate how wholly some Christians are willing to putative values and ideas to idolize Trump.

I'm positive there are absolutely no impure motivations behind this. That's why he put in place such restrictions, like a prohibition on him telling anyone in the White House about it. Wait, he didn't do that?

Political allies of the president who cares deeply about corruption celebrated his acquittal at the luxury hotel he still owns and profits from, which foreign governments and special interests use to curry favor with him, while putting money in his pocket

Genuine question: Do congressional Republicans think, with hindsight, that Nixon should’ve been forced to resign? And if not, what’s the case that Trump’s actions were less serious, given that he used the power of the presidency more directly in his attempt to smear rivals?

Say it loud and say it proud, - "Not guilty." Embrace it and own it, that you have affirmed that you affirmed that Donald Trump is not guilty of the articles you know were proven to certainty. It is now burned into American history for all time, along with your names.

Republicans have to be feeling good about having DJT Jr. as the arbiter of who gets booted out of the party.

If I understand this correctly, the president awarded the medal of freedom to a talk radio host with a revoltingly long record of bigotry during the State of the Union — and the civility police are coming for Nancy Pelosi for tearing up paper? Is that right?

so let's talk a bit about the guy who just got what at least is supposed to be one of the most prestigious awards our nation can give at one of the most high profile events

2020 in a nutshell: Lying repeatedly in a divisive, nationally televised address in which, among other things, you award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to a racist, misogynistic blowhard? No problem. Ripping up the speech in which all of those things were said? Disgusting!

the attempt by Republican officials to stoke conspiracy about an election in which we have no indication of improper behavior is vastly more disturbing than a delayed announcement

Susan Collins, in saying she won’t vote to remove Trump, says he learned a lesson. Trump has repeatedly said he behaved perfectly and did nothing wrong.

There has been more coverage today about the IA Clusterfuck than this entire cycle about state's throwing people off the voting rolls, something more demonstrably a cynical attempt to cheat.
