Look at the history every idea he's floated, they've all been around for quite some time, but were never implemented due to impracticality. eg landing & reusing rockets had been studied extensively, but always shown to be more expensive than expendable. Hyperloop = Vactrain etc..

So a high-achiever prefers to risk his wealth and pour his energy into wildly ambitious ventures, that generally advance humanity towards a better future, but you're annoyed that his work isn't totally original? Has anything he's accomplished negatively impacted you somehow?
