I run a Kurdish book club on Instagram. This month, we're reading 1984 by Orwell. To discuss its many ideas, I'm inviting a Kurdish-speaking Political Science expert to our next Instagram Live. Why? To break down 1984 & connect to the Kurdish experience - where possible. RT

This is an armed man, telling a female doctor that she is a liar for protesting. Dr. Shayan was later slapped by another man. Is this the abuse women face when they become politically active in ?

How can leaders talk about women rights when this man gets away with slapping a female doctor, who was merely protesting to get her salary from the government, which is her basic right! Doctors have been suffering under austerity measures, working without pay.

Who are we? Kurdistan Food Bank is a non-profitable organization that's run by 10 students from Hawler. We started our project back in October and since then, we've delivered food to over 100 families! Including the displaced people of Kirkuk, disabled people, orphans, widows (1)
