    I’ve just deleted a tweet on the illegal detention of Nazanin. I’m told the media reports of a deal are wrong. The situation has not changed. The cruelty shown to Nazanin and her family is a stain on the Teheran administration that has tortured and robbed its own for 40 years.

    More tragic events in Myanmar, with even more civilians suffering at the hands of the military junta. Labour is calling on the govt to call for Myanmar to be referred to the ICC. Threats of vetoes at the UN by other countries should not prevent us from pursuing a just course.

    More Burmese military airstrikes on the Salween Peace Park in Karen State today. Indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas is a war crime. Time for the UK to support referring Burma to the International Criminal Court, something has so far refused to say he supports.

    We remember all those across the world who lost their lives at work. Covid has exposed huge injustices in our societies - with our key workers and lowest paid most likely to die. We must rebuild a fairer country, and world, where workers are safe at work and get proper pay.
