My Grandma was from those parts. She was a proud Democrat and would never vote Republican! She was born in 1910. She spoke of being a young girl helping her mom drag long sacks picking cotton. Our traditions are not Republican.
I'd just like to have an opponent that actually lives in my district. I'm 5th Generation Grayson county resident. My family has watched this area grow from cotton/hay fields to cities over the last 100+ years. We will continue to be here for 5 generations more. It's tough for those of us who are Democrats running for state or federal office in really red areas.
It's even worse when the incumbent lives in the same town.
