What they did is unhelpful honestly. Kneeling is sold as a respectful means of protesting that is not at odds with patriotism. I’m supportive of this and always have been as a Black man who fought for this country. What they did is much harder to spin as not at odds with it.

That’s their right, but I hope it isn’t emulated by the players of major sports leagues because it will be much harder to defend and would be a distraction and a wedge. Kneeling works and is perfect imho.
