Most people I know cannot afford to take 2 weeks off if they thought they had it. In 2018 I was diagnosed with pneumonia and spent a week in my own hospital then another month recouping at home. I had good fmla saved up and PTO, but most don't have a good job that handles all of this. That's why I fight for better healthcare. We shouldn't struggle like we do.
