Not good history, in fact, McClellan was quite competent and Lee was brilliant. Avoid writing about what you don't know about.
President Lincoln fired the timid McClellan for incompetence. 'Brilliant' Lee lost many battles...and the war.

Lincoln fired McClellan over personal and political differences ... and because scapegoats were needed. In the end, Grant used McClellan's strategy to win the war. Lee lost the war primarily because the other side had a lot more soldiers.
