D.C. has some awesome architecture. Nice at night, but watch out for culprits who target out-of-town visitors.

I had 2 guys try to rob me after I photographed the 2nd Clinton inauguration. They ran away after I started yelling at them.

Screaming "Help" seldom works. Yelling "Admit you're my deadbeat baby daddy. Now pay up!" started folks looking. Dudes ran!

Culprits will try to rob others even if they have no weapons. Especially if the target is a female outnumbered by males.

I had a rather expensive military issue camera tucked under my jacket. I looked pregnant. Deadbeat daddy robbing baby mama?

I didn't feel like lugging around a camera bag, so I just threw a bunch of film in my hubby's jacket and hid the camera.

D.C. is not known for having the most intelligent culprits - just desperate ones who can sometimes be stopped by intelligence
