How does being a former state lawmaker in the minority party most of the time make one a "Santa Fe-insider"? If one is an insider, the other also is a "Santa Fe-insider" family.

Then *that’s* the message, no? Rather than imply they’re both “insiders,” wouldn’t it be better to call the absurdity of the “insider” label as applied to these politicians? Or to provide more of the context, rather than aver one’s family makes one an insider?

I don’t see how the tweet does that. Not unless, again, we take as fact that being married to a state legislator makes one an insider. That’s the argument I think you invented, as it isn’t attributed to any source, in sharp contrast to the straight reporting of the DCCC spin
