If you truly want the support of Black folks, you're gonna need to focus on us and leave the "POC" crowd out the mix. We're tired of disingenuous Blacks who cape for other groups that have no use for us. Pick a side and be authentic. Show us who U R.
My new colleague @kat__stafford has done some amazing work since joining the AP and I have enjoyed her journalism. POCs have worked in solidarity with each other throughout US history. (See Underground Railroad to Mexico, Plan De San Diego, George I Sanchez/Thurgood Marshall)

It's cute & admirable that you defend & support your colleague but Kat needs to know the Black Community is thrgh supporting coalitions that get what they want & then kick Black folks to the curb. The relationships of the past R dead. Let the dead bury the dead. Its a new day.

Kat’s work is strong and speaks for itself. Relationships of the past are never dead. Just ask my Mexican/black cousins. Every wedding/funeral I attend I find more. New day, indeed. Tomorrow will be even better.
