White people love taco tuesday but do they know about Mexican Mondays? In Orange County, not too long ago, swimming pools were segregated and MX were only allowed to swim the day b4 the pool was gonna be cleaned, los lunes.

David Marcus was the lawyer who challenged those segregated Orange County pools in court. He’d later take the Mendez case. He was from a Jewish family and from Albuquerque. He’s largely forgotten here.pic.twitter.com/35rwiXPPEs

He's a personal hero of mine. I stress the sociological strategy he employed during the Mendez litigation when I teach this case to my kids at school.

Also, Marcus won the pool case in San Bernardino, not OC. Lopez v Seccombe. But he got his start in OC with Doss vs. Bernal, one of the 1st court cases that found housing covenants unconstitutional. But what do I know about OC haha
