I don’t believe I’ve ever had a Black teacher. I went to school in the suburbs of the Bay Area. But, if you ever need a story, come to the HS I work at in union city. It’s the only school with an Ethnic Studies dept and req for graduation.
Interesting note: I am a 4th gen Mexican American who grew up in Houston. All my teachers from K to 3rd grade were black women.
