What is standard about New Mexicans anyway?

Once my kid saw an ad insert from a pet store; there was an Igloo dog house. He saw it and said, 'look, an horno.' He would have flunked that question on a test.

Since it also is Roberto Mondragon's birthday, I'm thinking how much I would enjoy hearing him tell, one more time, the joke about the disoriented tourists who stop at a hamburger stand near Cuyamungue to ask where they are.

I wouldn't mind hearing him strum a few songs.

By the way, did the odd-timing of the tests results release have anything to do with the Karen Trujillo issues?

How many times in the last decade has New Mexico changed its "standardized" testing?

I’ve covered at least four since I’ve been on and off covering NM education since 2004. Next year will be the 5th. And many NM high school students still have to take remedial classes in college before being allowed to take undergrad classes

Kids do all over and the smart research is not to do remedial but regular classes with support. Great stuff out of UT Austin. Remedial classes are $$$ for colleges, another way to gouge parents IMO.
