San Diego has better waves, nicer people and yes, better Mexican food if you simply stroll a few steps south. I grew up on tacos al vapor at La Especial. SD also produces the best music critics (Cameron Crowe, Lester Bangs) and superior Chicanos (@laloalcaraz, @ajgradilla).

How did I miss this taco throw-down? All I have to say is that a breakfast taco from any Stripes gas station in the Rio Grande Valley beats any taco from SoCal. Flour + Lard beats Corn tortillas all day everyday
