#3 Rush Doshi, “The Long Game.” Using incredible primary source documents, masterfully lays out what the Chinese Communist Party says it is going to do, but also demonstrates what it is doing to fulfill those objectives.

's magisterial "The Long Game", I'd strongly recommend, as well as 's "Strategy of Denial", and Rana Mitter's "China's Good War." A blend of past and present.
