For the first time a H-6N was seen landing with an air-launched Anti-ship ballistic missile (ALBM/AShBM). This missile so far labelled as CH-AS-X-13 is often referred to the DF-21D but here it looks almost to feature an DF-17 like hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) on top the rocketpic.twitter.com/yOugsjkkhx

Really?? ... and why do you think so? So in your opinion its just a faked representative or a what-if ALBM in order to scare the US and its allies?

The terminal stage looks the same. Is there a difference in the first stage of the D model over others?

Why the Chinese are going for an air-launched stand off HGV in several figures. Standard SM-3's are exoatmospheric and HGV's are not. Plus the radar tracking timeline works better for saturation attacks on a CVBG. The USN needs to put a SM-6 radar on a SM-3 rocket body ASAP.pic.twitter.com/NYctstnRHJ

I was discussing this with a former Marine Intelligence officer some years back. You can't just "put a radar on a body" here. Most of the radar system needed is built into the boat itself. You would need to remove the ABM capability to defend against this.

Looks like the front landing gear is awfully close to the tip of the HGV.
