He was in his 40s.

And that was 10 yrs ago. We will all say and do things that ten years from now we'll regret. Times change.
-
Maybe if he were in his 20s, but if he thinks that that’s funny in his 40s then any changes he claims to have made are likely motivated by PR alone. Still, Disney can fire him if they want, and they saw a risk to profits, so they did.
-
You don't - or don't want to - see a difference between jokes and genuine hate speech. That doesn't make you right, nor does it make me right, I guess. But don't suggest they're the same because they really aren't.
-
There’s an obvious difference, and I never said they were the same, but there’s really no such thing as hate speech. Disney fired him because the recent exposure risks their profits. It’s not hard to understand.

Two things. 1) Normal folks don’t tweet disgusting “jokes” about young kids, the most vulnerable and impressionable, repeatedly. You’re defending what is indefensible since child predators don’t change. 2) Don’t breed & delete your account.
-
1) They absolutely do. It may not be to your taste, but they do. 2) Too Late 3) Good luck. Your life is clearly very empty.

10k tweets about molesting or raping children, sharing a pedophilia video then joking and enjoying it is ok in your book. Pedophiles don't change no matter how many times they say their sorry. Pedophiles do not deserve redemption. He was a grown man when he did it.
-
Funny people make jokes. The darker and less okay something is, the more funny people feel the urge to make jokes about it. You don't have to like the jokes or find them funny, but making other people laugh (which he did) with these tweets does NOT make him a paedophile.
-
10k on one subject. Maybe try some new material. None of them were funny.

A good man? What is wrong with you people? He is sick and a freak. Some things you don’t joke about. And don’t forget about truth in jest. He went on and on and on, time and again, with the most disgusting comments I’ve ever read. Shame on you. What if it was your kid?
-
I'm sorry we disagree. There is a LONG human history of folk making jokes about the sickest things. For some of us, it's a way of coping with how horrible human beings can be.
-
By becoming a horrible human being???

"goes against the moral code you taught us all when we were kids." And what moral code is that? That pedophilia is ok so long as you're rich and work in the movie industry?
-
Sounds like hollywood to me. How much evil should be permitted in an industry because it entertains?

Dude, he's not telling occasional jokes to be edgy. He gets off on scenes of raping helpless children. Are you ok with that?
-
There's absolutely no evidence for this. Making jokes and actually doing a thing are not equivalent.
-
Occasional dirty jokes are great! The SAME dirty joke a thousand times indicates an obsession with the act. WHAT action was Gunn obsessed with, mate?
