Another huge study of over 650,000 kids shows absolutely no link between vaccines and autism. Doctors say it's proof we're living in a 'fact-resistant' world. via

Our paper supporting a theory first put forth in 1994 by Zohary et al. That suggested that correlations could limit information in large neural populations. Information limiting correlations in large neural populations

NIH is hiring SROs and POs. (SROs at CSR and NIMH, not sure what other institutes are looking for specifically). If you value stability and can tolerate MS Office, federal service may be for you. Open through 1/30.

Check out our latest work in in collaboration with the brilliant ! Short story: in a simple Pavlovian context, adolescents perform more goal-directed behavior (goal tracking) and less habit-like behavior (sign tracking) than adults.

Our 2nd insula paper is out in ! We found that insular cortex represents current bodily state AND uses external cues to “simulate” future changes to bodily physiology – “How do I feel?” + “How will this make me feel?” More in THREAD…1/7

Very happy to have this out! Dopamine transients produce learning about antecedent cues, without making those cues valuable. Thread below summarizes our key points👇 Particularly proud as I spent experiment 3🤮 in a bin between squads while pregnant 😂
